Break Every Chain of Yesterday (Congregational Worship)

[Verse 1] I was running in circles Chasing shadows on my own Heart so heavy it trembled Felt like hope had left home Then Your word cut the silence Like the dawn through the dark You called my name in the chaos Laid Your fire in my heart [Chorus] Break every chain of yesterday Jesus You’re stronger You make a way Where I see walls You see a door I’m not a slave to what came before You took my shame You took my blame Now I stand free in Your holy name Break every chain of yesterday I rise I rise in Your grace today [Verse 2] I remember that evening Tears all over the floor I had nothing to offer Still You opened the door You rewrote my story With those scars in Your hands What was broken and wasted You’re turning into a plan [Chorus] Break every chain of yesterday Jesus You’re stronger You make a way Where I see walls You see a door I’m not a slave to what came before You took my shame You took my blame Now I stand free in Your holy name Break every chain of yesterday I rise I rise in Your grace today [Bridge] I hear the sound Of captives singing freedom I see the ground Where fear has lost its throne (oh-oh) I lift my hands Because Your mercy found me I won’t go back The past has lost its hold [Chorus] Break every chain of yesterday Jesus You’re stronger You make a way Where I see walls You see a door I’m not a slave to what came before You took my shame You took my blame Now I stand free in Your holy name Break every chain of yesterday I rise I rise in Your grace today
