Wandering Through the Pages (Acoustic Worship)

[Verse 1] I opened up the book again Dusty spine But the words still breathe Stories in the margins Names I barely know But it feels like they remember me A boy with just a slingshot A sea split like a curtain wide A table in the desert sand Bread and mercy on every side [Chorus] I’m just wandering through the pages But You keep finding me first In the wars and in the cages In the blessing and the curse From the garden to the manger Every line keeps calling me I’m just wandering through the pages You’re the one I always see [Verse 2] Prophets in the midnight Writing out their broken hearts Prisoners singing in the dark Chains fall quiet as the song starts A teacher on a hillside Feeding crowds with a borrowed lunch A cross on a lonely hill Empty stone where the world woke up (oh) [Chorus] I’m just wandering through the pages But You keep finding me first In the wars and in the cages In the blessing and the curse From the garden to the manger Every line keeps calling me I’m just wandering through the pages You’re the one I always see [Bridge] Every promise Every Psalm Every whisper Every storm All the questions I still hold You have heard them all before So I read like a child again Let the letters lead me home Every chapter Every end Leaves me less and less alone [Chorus] I’m just wandering through the pages But You keep finding me first In the wars and in the cages In the blessing and the curse From the garden to the manger Every line keeps calling me I’m just wandering through the pages You’re the one I always see
