The Hill Called Mercy (Passion Week)

[Verse 1] I walked the road in dust With hands so full of shame You met me where I fell And called me by Your name My tears ran down like rain On the stones beneath my feet But You were there before me With mercy at the seat [Pre-Chorus] You carried every sin Up that sorrowed hill The world looked on in silence But Your love would not stand still [Chorus] The hill called mercy Where my debt was laid The hill called mercy Where my heart was saved You gave Your life for me You gave Your life for me The hill called mercy Still speaks my name [Verse 2] The thorns were not Your crown The nails were not Your end You drank the bitter cup To call me child again The grave could not hold love The stone could not stay sealed For when You rose in glory My broken soul was healed [Pre-Chorus] You carried every sin Up that sorrowed hill The world looked on in silence But Your love would not stand still [Chorus] The hill called mercy Where my debt was laid The hill called mercy Where my heart was saved You gave Your life for me You gave Your life for me The hill called mercy Still speaks my name [Bridge] Jesus, Lamb of God My hope, my only plea I stand beneath the wonder Of what You did for me Though I was far away You brought me near Your side Now every breath I have Belongs to crucified love [Final Chorus] The hill called mercy Where my debt was laid The hill called mercy Where my heart was saved You gave Your life for me You gave Your life for me The hill called mercy Forever I will say The hill called mercy You washed me clean today
