River In The Desert (Worship Anthem)

[Verse 1] I was dry ground Cracked faith Dust on my tongue Every prayer felt Like a stone that never sunk Then You spoke light Into places I had closed Said “I’m not done” And the wasteland started to grow [Chorus] You are a river in the desert You are the song in my drought You took my silence Made it singing All of my fears You drowned them out You are the fire in the ashes Hope where I once saw none You are a river in the desert Jesus You’re where my help comes from [Verse 2] I see green now On the edges of my doubt Little mercies Breaking up the hardened ground Every sunrise Feels like You’re still writing me New beginnings In the middle of my history [Chorus] You are a river in the desert You are the song in my drought You took my silence Made it singing All of my fears You drowned them out You are the fire in the ashes Hope where I once saw none You are a river in the desert Jesus You’re where my help comes from [Bridge] When I’m tired of walking (oh-oh) You run to find me first When I say it’s over You speak a better word Everywhere You’re flowing Dead things start to rise I thought it was the ending You were turning on the light [Chorus] You are a river in the desert You are the song in my drought You took my silence Made it singing All of my fears You drowned them out You are the fire in the ashes Hope where I once saw none You are a river in the desert Jesus You’re where my help comes from
