Open the Door (Contemporary Christian)

[Verse 1] I was heavy in the rain Carrying my own name Tried to hold it all alone Till I heard You call me home Hands on the broken gate Heart in a rusty state I was reaching for a light Then You met me in the night [Pre-Chorus] You said, "Child, come near" You said, "Child, come near" And all my fear fell down All my fear fell down [Chorus] Open the door Open the door You are welcome here You are welcome here Open the door Open the door Bring Your mercy near Bring Your mercy near [Verse 2] Now my table’s set again For the lost and for my friends Every scar is singing loud Grace can find a way somehow You turned my ashes bright You put a song in my fight Now I’m standing in Your love And I’m never giving up [Pre-Chorus] You said, "Child, come near" You said, "Child, come near" And all my fear fell down All my fear fell down [Chorus] Open the door Open the door You are welcome here You are welcome here Open the door Open the door Bring Your mercy near Bring Your mercy near [Bridge] I was far, You came close I was lost, You knew me most Every chain, every lie Broken under heaven’s eyes So I lift my hands and breathe You are all I need I will follow where You lead I will follow where You lead [Final Chorus] Open the door Open the door You are welcome here You are welcome here Open the door Open the door Bring Your mercy near Bring Your mercy near Open the door Open the door I was made for this I was made for this
