On the Road to Calvary (Christian Worship)

[Verse 1] Dust clung to His feet on the hill Wood pressed hard against His shoulder Every step beneath the morning chill Carried mercy closer [Pre-Chorus] The crowd cried out, the heavens waited Love walked on though hope seemed faded [Chorus] On the road to Calvary He bore the weight of you and me Through the wound, through the shame He called us home by mercy’s name On the road to Calvary Love went farther than we could see When the Lamb was lifted high Redemption opened through the sky [Verse 2] A mother watched beside the road Tears fell silent on His garment He gave no answer to the blows Only grace beneath the torment [Pre-Chorus] The earth grew still, the temple trembled Every promise stood remembered [Chorus] On the road to Calvary He bore the weight of you and me Through the wound, through the shame He called us home by mercy’s name On the road to Calvary Love went farther than we could see When the Lamb was lifted high Redemption opened through the sky [Bridge] It was not the nails alone It was love that made Him stay Not the darkness on the stone But the dawn beyond that day [Choir] Holy Lamb, receive our praise You have torn apart the grave By Your blood, our hearts are free Jesus, hope eternally [Final Chorus] On the road to Calvary You bore the weight of you and me Through the wound, through the shame You called us home by mercy’s name From the cross to victory Your living love has set us free Now the stone is rolled away We will worship You always [Outro] Jesus, we remember Jesus, we adore From the cross came mercy And mercy reigns forever
