Jesus Wept (Uplifting Christian)

[Verse 1] By the stone where the mourners gathered You stood beside the grieving ones Martha called through broken silence Mary fell before Your love [Pre-Chorus] You did not turn away from sorrow You entered every tear The heart that formed our fragile breath Was tender, present, near [Chorus] Jesus wept, and heaven listened Jesus wept, and mercy came At the grave of wounded people Love stood calling life by name Jesus wept, then hope awakened Death could not remain Through the tears of our Redeemer We are gathered home again [Verse 2] You know the rooms where loss is waiting The empty chair, the unanswered prayer You know the weight beneath our breathing You meet us in the darkness there [Pre-Chorus] No sorrow is beneath Your notice No wound beyond Your hands The One who cried beside the tomb Still helps the broken stand [Chorus] Jesus wept, and heaven listened Jesus wept, and mercy came At the grave of wounded people Love stood calling life by name Jesus wept, then hope awakened Death could not remain Through the tears of our Redeemer We are gathered home again [Bridge] At the cross, the sky grew quiet At the cross, our debt was paid Every sin and fear surrendered Every lost soul found a way From the garden to the morning From the mourning to the song The compassion of the Savior Carries every heart along [Final Chorus] Jesus wept, and heaven listened Jesus wept, and mercy came At the grave of wounded people Love stood calling life by name Jesus lives, and hope is rising Death has lost its claim Through the tears of our Redeemer We will praise Your holy name [Outro] When our tears fall, stay beside us When our faith feels worn and thin Jesus, gentle Lord of mercy Call us from the grave again
