Holding My Own Hand (Indie-Pop Ballad)

[Verse 1] Morning hits I miss the alarm Scrolling past the perfect lives Sink inside an oversize hoodie Tell myself "we're still alright" [Pre-Chorus] I used to hide the heavy days Like they were something I should waste Now I try to say it plain "I'm not okay But I'm okay" [Chorus] I'm holding my own hand through the panic Talking myself down when it spikes Breathing in slow Counting the ceiling cracks Riding these waves as they rise I don't have to win to keep standing I just have to stay Stay and try I'm holding my own hand through the panic Till the storm runs out of sky [Verse 2] Left that text on read all week Friends keep asking where I've gone I don't need to be the strong one Just need space to come undone [Pre-Chorus] I’m learning how to love the part That shakes and stutters in the dark Tiny steps across the floor Quiet courage Wanting more [Chorus] I'm holding my own hand through the panic Talking myself down when it spikes Breathing in slow Counting the ceiling cracks Riding these waves as they rise I don't have to shine to keep mattering I just have to stay Stay and try I'm holding my own hand through the panic Till the storm runs out of sky [Bridge] If you’re out there Feeling broken Wearing shame like it's your brand Here’s a truth I wish I'd spoken: You are not your worst thought Friend (oh no) Sit beside me in the silence We can shake We can just stand We don't need to have the answers Just a promise Just a plan [Chorus] We’re holding our own hands through the panic Talking ourselves down when it spikes Breathing in slow Tracing the window glass Riding these waves as they rise We don't have to win to keep standing We just have to stay Stay and try We're holding our own hands through the panic Till the storm runs out of sky
