Dust on My Bible (Folk-Gospel Band)

[Verse 1] There’s dust on my Bible Coffee ring on Your name Sunday’s in my schedule But Monday I don’t change I talk like I trust You Then drift when skies turn gray I’m tired of this distance I’m coming back today [Chorus] So write on my heart like a brand new page Light up the dark Burn through the haze I’ve wandered far But Your mercy stays the same I’m laying it down All my pride and plans Open my hands Teach me to stand I was lost But I hear You call my name [Verse 2] That old wooden altar Still creaks like it remembers The kid who said “forever” One July in late summer I’ve broken every promise But You still kept Your own Nails in wounded fingers Built my way back home [Chorus] So write on my heart like a brand new page Light up the dark Burn through the haze I’ve wandered far But Your mercy stays the same I’m laying it down All my pride and plans Open my hands Teach me to stand I was lost But I hear You call my name
