Start listening

New to audiobooks or podcasts? Here is how to get started on ListenAudio.app. Everything is free and there is nothing to sign up for.

1. Find something to listen to

  • Collections: classics, kids, poetry and short stories.
  • Genres: more than 100 genres from the LibriVox catalogue.
  • Authors: every audiobook by Dickens, Austen, Twain and thousands more.
  • Languages: audiobooks in German, Spanish, French and many other languages.
  • Search by title or author, or try a random audiobook.

2. Press play

Each book page has a player that streams the recording straight from the Internet Archive. Use the playlist in the player to jump between chapters. On a phone, the audio keeps playing while you scroll.

3. Pick up where you left off

Long books are split into chapters. Make a note of the chapter you reached, or save the book to your library on this device so it is easy to find again. Nothing is stored on our server.

4. Listen offline

Want to listen without a connection, for example on a flight? Use the “Chapters and downloads on LibriVox” link on any book page. LibriVox offers free MP3 and M4B downloads you can open in most audio or podcast apps.

5. Try podcasts

Our podcast directory lists family-friendly shows by category. Each show links to its Apple Podcasts page and its public RSS feed. To follow a show in another podcast app, copy the RSS feed link and paste it into the app’s “add by URL” option.

About the recordings

LibriVox recordings are made by volunteers, so voices and audio quality vary. Many books have more than one recording; if you do not like a reader, search for the title again. The books are in the public domain in the USA; please check the copyright laws in your country.
