About this book
Legend meets lore at Longdendale, the "long wooded valley" of fabled Cheshire. Thomas Middleton - a dramatist, politician, antiquarian, lecturer, writer, Sunday School teacher and local historian - has preserved for us a collection of wild and perhaps improbable folk tales of chieftains, kings, chivalrous knights, foul villains and fearsome beasts all connected over time in the Longdendale tradition. - Summary by Brian Fullen
